The preface to the first volume says that this "is a plain narrative of facts as related by reliable, intelligent people that have laid off their natural bodies and passed into the inner world." Houts (1838- ) was the author with Margaret Scott Houts of Messages from the Beyond: Narrated Experiences of Life After Death, reprinted 1962.
