From Pat Deveney's database:
Sendero, El. Self-proclaimed occult journal whose tone is indicated by the a passage from Schopenhauer ("there can not exist any privileged or sacrosanct error") on the cover and the full-page proclamation "Our destiny is in ourselves." Despite its exalted goals, the journal's own claims were humble: We are writing to give our insignificant contribution in the journalistic struggle, without the slightest pretension of literary erudition. We march without fear of censure, since if it is sensible it will serve as a guide for the day, and if it is fractious we shall despise it because it comes from anger. Our observations are not made with the intention of searching for controversies over creeds or customs; they will not single out specific persons or groups; and will nog follow informative paths. . . . We are not guided by foolish belief in the superiority of our principles or by the vain affection of our knowledge; money does not interest us . . . . Our path is laid out in meditation . . . ." The association that published the journal was named after Amado Ruiz de Nervo y Ordaz (1870-1919), a modernist poet and diplomat.
