Summary: |
From Pat Deveney's database:
Sanctuary. The journal contained excerpts from Frank B. Robinson's Psychiana, and advertisements for Daisy Gibson Buettner's "Pure Spiritualism" correspondence courses, and for other fringe journals. It also carried a "Sanctuary Question Box" with Colarocco's answers to questions posed "by yearly subscribers on any problem." The advertisement in Psychic Observer, December 1944, announced: "Will send three (3) different sample copies (back-dated) of my "Sanctuary" magazine of golden-orbed thought for one dime (10c) and three (3c) stamp. We publish psychic stories, good-thought articles and beautiful soul-lifting poetry." By 1946, in her advertisements for her autobiography, Memoirs of a Taurian Woman, Colarocco is listed as "former editor" of the journal, and in the 1950s and as late as 1960 she is still advertising as C.V. Colarocco that she "can help you because I have absolute confidence in the Power of Spirit and long experience," all for $2.00. |
