- Description:
1/1, January 1895-1914. 16-32 pp., 5 francs a year. Laurent de Faget (d. 1912), a well-known poet in his own right, had earlier edited Le Spiritisme after Gabriel Delanne retired, and this journal began with a fight over whether he had appropriated the subscription list of Le Spiritisme to start this new journal. All of this was part of the larger rift within Kardecist spiritism in the 1890s over the relative emphasis to be given to spirit messages and the role of pure psychical research. When Le Spiritisme foundered, Delanne founded the Revue Scientifique et Morale du Spiritisme, and Laurent de Faget started this journal, the refuge of those, like Leon Denis, adhering more closely to Allan Kardec’s original ideas and the format laid down by him in Revue Spirite 40 years before.
