From Pat Deveney's database:
New Thought Companion, The. This was the penultimate transformation of Sydney B. Flower's Hypnotic Therapeutics, begun in 1896. See the notes under that journal and under New Thought (Chicago). The advertisements for the journal said that it "lives up to its name, as it stands for improved mental and physical conditions or the greatest possible amount of information which will enable its readers to attain their ideal. Each number carries a message of uplift, inspiration and helpful suggestions for those who are striving to better the things they are now doing." Advertised in in Now, June 1915, Master Mind, September 1915, and in the Spiritualist (New York), February 1916, which also carries an advertisement by the same publisher for the pamphlet "The Rejected Stone," on the regeneration of the body "into a palace for the soul." Excerpts from other journals and occasional articles by Sydney A. Weltner, Essillyn Dale Nichols, C.F. Hubert, S.T.D.C., et al., and notable advertisements for the likes of "The Psychology of Salesmanship," "Will Alfalfa Renew Life," "Dollars Want Me," "How to Live Forever," "Yogi Self-Developer" by The Latent Light Culture of Tinnevelly, India), etc. The publisher of the journal was so swamped with "exchanges" from various New Thought magazines that he offered to send a pound of them to anyone sending 15 cents for the postage.
