Summary: From Pat Deveney's database:

Informer, The.
1907--1908 Weekly
Williamsport, PA.
Editor: J.L. Mussina.
1/1, 1907.
75 cents (then 50 cents) a year.

The leaflet was noted as a new journal in Progressive Thinker, November 1907: "a little paper published by Mr. J.L. Mussina, of Williamsport, Pa., for the young people of Spiritualism. It fills a need, and ought to have the support of all who are interested in lyceum work and societies for young people. It is bristling with points, all of which are educational, which suggests that "The Educator" might be used as the title with better effect, especially connected with the word Spiritualist. . . . [T]he whole purpose of the paper seems to be to present the principles and truths of spiritualism in an attractive form to young people." This was a supplement to the Lyceum Banner, q.v., to aid the lyceum work of spiritualism started by Andrew Jackson Davis. It advertised that it contained: "General reading and contributions; Lyceum Notes and Reports; Graded Departments of Work including Weekly Lessons; Uncle John's Talks; Brief and Short Stories." The advertisements for the journal in the Progressive Thinker cease in 1908 as, presumably, did the journal, as well. Jacob Lyons Mussina was a prominent jeweler and Methodist in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, whose wife, unsurprisingly, headed the local WCTU.
