This was a popular commercial venture rather than the organ of some occult school or spiritualist denomination and contained regular contributions by members of the editorial staff together with a variety of the minor figures of the period who wrote on the paranormal. The journal carried contributions by the astrologer Jerry L. Keane, Roy Eugene Davis, Leo Louis Martello, Harry Edwards, Ursula Roberts, and others, and featured advertisements for AMORC, the Lemurian Fellowship, Astara, the Druids, and a host of the minor handwriting analysts, Tarot readers, "dehaunters," clairvoyants, and mental healers, of the time. Notably, the journal carried in 1963 an article by Marie Harlowe, onetime editor of the Occult Digest, on the Tarot. The journal also had a regular "Experiences" column for which it paid $5.00 for a thousand-word account of some reader’s paranormal experiences. Lowndes (1916-1998) was a notable figure in science-fiction and horror publishing, editing Future Science Fiction and Science Fiction Quarterly, among others, both put out by Health Knowledge.
