| Summary: |
From Pat Deveney's database:
Dawn. Organ of the "Back to Blavatsky" movement and the of the T.S. Loyalty League (devoted to being "Loyal to the established Objects of the Theosophical Society") which Annie Besant condemned for its "sectarian hatred" of the Liberal Catholic Church--opposition to which was one of the principal aims of the league, along with rejection of Krishnamurti as "World Teacher" because of his association with Bishop Leadbeater and his scandals. The journal in several articles by Martyn repeatedly attacked Besant's bona fides as an adept and clairvoyant, and in 1922 Martyn (1859-1924) led some 600 members of the Australian Section to secede to form the Independent Theosophical Society in Sydney.
