| Summary: |
From Pat Deveney's database:
Cosmos Express. The journal was published in separate French and English editions. The journal seems to have been a fairly typical UFO newsletter of the period with an emphasis on trying to understand the reality behind the phenomena as a way of "comprehending Mankind." It was the product of Citizens of the Cosmos, a group started in the early 1970s, which was "an assemblage of conscious individuals who have faith in the future of Humankind and who endeavor the to achieve the realization of common aims. It is a chain of friendship, a spiritual union." In an advertisement in Universe, no. 6, Winter Solstice, 1973, the journal asked: "Would you like to voyage into the realms of the unknown? Travel in a spaceship to Venus? Share the thrills of prophecies come true? . . . Are you searching for 'The Message' from the stars or the latest in phenomenal sciences?" Other advertisements promised articles on "Life after Death, parapsychological phenomena, and much much more!" Richards later edited Cosmic Reporter, a bimonthly journal also put out by Citoyens du Cosmos in Quebec.
