Summary: |
From Pat Deveney's database:
Chariot, Le. The subscription price included separate supplements on Parapsychologie and etudes des Phenomenes Spirites that were reserved for subscribers alone, the value of which, it was claimed, would more than reimburse the cost of the journal alone. The journal was written at a popular level and espoused no school or doctrine, reflecting the interests of its editor. Georges Muchery (1892-1981) was a man of many parts. He was primarily an astrologer but also wrote treatises on tarot (with an astrological pack), magic, numerology, graphology, and the like, all of which, like the material that appeared in this journal, emphasized the "experimental" (practical) approach to the subjects. He also wrote (anonymously) the curious Conjugal Happiness: Adultery Unveiled to all by the Hand, which expounded at length and with plates of handprints on the proclivities towards or against adultery as revealed by palmistry, with guidance on the practical use of such knowledge. Most of the contributors to the journal were minor astrologers of the era, with the most notable exception being F. Jollivet-Castelot. Advertisements for Sibylla refer to this journal, which may indicate some connection between the two. BNF; Universiteit Utrecht.
